Clinical Counseling FAQ

Clinical counseling is a professional, evidence-based therapy that provides a safe and supportive environment to address emotional, psychological, and behavioral concerns. It helps individuals explore challenges, develop coping strategies, and improve overall mental well-being.

Clinical counseling can support a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Stress, anxiety, and depression
  • Trauma or grief
  • Relationship or family challenges
  • Life transitions or career stress
  • Coping with chronic pain or health conditions
  • And sometimes you just need someone outside of your circle to bounce thoughts off of

Counseling is personalized to your goals and needs.

If you are experiencing emotional distress, struggling with coping strategies, or seeking personal growth and support, counseling can help. Yes. Clinical counseling sessions are confidential. Information is only shared with others with your consent or in situations required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others). Your privacy is always a priority.

Sessions typically last 50 minutes. Your counselor will discuss session length and scheduling based on your treatment plan and availability.

The number of sessions varies depending on your goals, concerns, and progress. Some clients benefit from a few focused sessions, while others engage in longer-term counseling. Your counselor will provide guidance and adjust the plan as needed.

Most extended health insurance plans cover clinical counseling. Coverage varies by provider and plan, so it’s best to confirm with your insurer before your first appointment. painPRO is able to direct bill to most insurance providers and if not, receipts and documentation are provided for insurance reimbursement.
